The Santa Clara County/San Mateo SAFE KIDS Coalition is hosting car seat inspections. The inspection is a program of SAFE KIDS and is designed to let the parents know if their child safety seat is adequate and installed properly to protect their children. According to statistics as of June 2000, 89% of the child safety seats inspected in these programs have been found to be installed improperly and 7,301 manufacturer recalled seats have been found. This is based on 59,037 seats inspected. Is your child safety seat installed correctly? The Sheriff’s Office encourages everyone to attend an inspection.
