| What does your family think of your job? | They have all been supportive of me. They worry about me but they have always supported me, as far as I know. |
| How many hours do you work a day? | It's is suppose to be 40 hours a week. But it winds up being more like fifty or sixty hours some weeks. But it's typically a 10 hour shift and what they call a four - ten shift. |
| What is your opinion of the "Cops" TV show? | I like it because it shows you what actually happens, good things and the bad things, and good police procedure and bad police procedures because I sit there and kind of critique it. It gives you a taste of what really happens out there and people ask me all the time if it's true what they show on TV, does it really Happen? and Yeah, it does happen, maybe not as frequently in Saratoga or Cupertino but those things happen all the time. |
| Do cops prefer bagels or doughnuts? | I'll be honest with you. I used to be a doughnut eater and now I switched to bagels and Cafe latte for a couple of reasons. One, I got tired of doughnut shop jokes and I realized that it's not really all that healthy for you. So, I haven't had a doughnut in probably six months. |
| What do you do in your spare time? | Let's see. Radio is my hobby. Electronics, radio and computers and that kind of stuff. |
| From your perspective, is crime increasing or decreasing in this city? | I think crime is actually...That's a hard question. Personally, I don't know if its decreased. I know they keep saying the stats have decreased, but what I notice a few less crimes but what crimes that are committed, are more violent today than when I first started twenty-two years ago. |
| What kind of music do you like? | Oldies, Oldies and oldies. Sometimes country, I like country. |
| What kind of hobbies do you have? | Electronics and that kind of stuff. Radios, too. Jogging, I don't know if jogging is a hobby or not. I don't know if you can tell, but my legs are in great shape. |
| What's your favorite sport? | Probably baseball. |
| Is there anything else that you want to add? | I like working with kids, obviously, or I wouldn't be in this position. And what I like about it is it isn't all a lock-em-up-and-throw-away- the-key type of stuff but its dealing with situations like this where I am able to sit down and talk with folks like you in other situations other than the typical negative situations. So I like doing that, and I like to talk, period |
